As a temporary driver for our Animal Relocation team, you will meet animal welfare professionals across the country and fill an important role in creating opportunities for animals. It's hard work that takes a special person, but there is no better feeling than knowing you personally and directly improved outcomes for an animal. ASPCA's Shelter Outreach department is seeking Contingent Animal Relocation Drivers to support our Animal Relocation Initiative - a program aimed at increasing adoptions and decreasing euthanasia nationwide through safe and effective animal relocation and transport. Our Relocation team is responsible for successfully transporting approximately 35,000 animals each year - life-changing work that is made possible by our dedicated team of drivers. Contingent Relocation Drivers, while not employees of the ASPCA, work closely with ASPCA staff members. This contingent position is responsible for driving ASPCA-owned vehicles to relocate animals travelling from sending shelter partners to receiving shelter partners. In addition to the crucial task of care and transport of both dogs and cats, this position is responsible for stocking the vehicle, monitoring the inventory in storage, maintaining logs, cleaning trucks and, on occasion, delivering the truck for maintenance. Drivers are required to frequently travel and stay overnight in hotels, fly to meet transport vehicles, be away from home at least two weeks per month, work long hours often in inclement weather and must be comfortable driving in snow and rain. Compensation: The target hiring range for this temporary role is $18.00 per hour and may be modified in the future. Qualifications:
