Registered Nurse (RN) - Physician Practice - Pediatrics

Summary

This role may be eligible for a Per Diem Incentive Premium of $2.50 per hour. Requirements include working 6 shifts in an 8-week schedule. There may be further requirements based on practice needs that will be discussed if selected for an interview.

This RN selected for this per diem position will float to Southern Maine Health Care's Pediatric practices located in Biddeford, Saco, Sanford and Kennebunk, Maine.

Primary duties for this RN position include:

* Providing phone triage to patients & booking appointments with providers as needed

* Conducting patient facing nurse visits

* Handling newborn education visits

* Overseeing Epi pen training

The Pediatric practices are open Monday-Friday, from 8am-5pm. Your weekends are free!

We are seeking candidates who are available for at least 2 shifts/month once fully trained. Training requires availability of 3-5 days/week for the first 6-8 weeks.




  • Position Summary



    • Assists with face-to-face and telephonic care and treatment of patients. Responsible for the delivery of care through the process of nursing assessment, planning and implementation. Promotes a smooth flow of patients through the office and helps to create a calm and supportive atmosphere, demonstrating the Values in Action with each interaction, at all times. Performs tasks as required within their scope of practice, paying attention to detail and accuracy. Conducts all interactions with patients and personnel in a courteous, respectful manner while maintaining confidentiality. The incumbent is required to conduct all job responsibilities consistent with policies, procedures, and in compliance with all applicable laws or mandates relating to patient care and activities.




  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)



    • Education: BSN preferred.


    • License/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the Maine State Board of Nursing required. Current BLS required.


    • Experience: At least two years' experience in related field preferred.


    • The use and knowledge of computers, the knowledge of office procedures necessary, and routine laboratory procedures.
