Position Summary Trinity College seeks a staff that reflects the changing demographics of our student body. The Director of Student Leadership, Engagement, and Greek Life reports to the Dean of Student Life.
- The Director will foster a collaborative atmosphere and provide leadership to all functions of community and the Office of Student Leadership and Engagement (SLE) and Greek Life.
- The Director guides the SLE and Greek Life staff in bringing vision towards new and ongoing student programs, events, and leadership initiatives that connect to the college’s institutional values, mission, and strategic plan.
- The Director provides oversight and leads efforts to promote student engagement through the development and implementation of leadership development programs/initiatives.
- This position develops high impact practices, placing emphasis on the Trinity student experience and student needs.
This is a 12- month position with non-standard hours and is exempt regarding FLSA overtime provisions and required to reside on-campus.
Qualifications
· Master’s degree in Counseling, Higher Education, Management, or related area.
· 5 or more years of experience in higher education student affairs administration with progressive responsibilities.
· Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral), analytical ability, sound judgment, and handle situations with sensitivity and objectivity.
· Must have the ability to work under pressure, to initiate and complete concurrent tasks with accuracy in a timely fashion, and represent the office and the College professionally.
· Must work effectively with multiple constituencies, including students, faculty, parents, alumni, and other campus colleagues.
· Must have knowledge of student life issues that affect student success, such as cultural differences, disabilities, mental health, sexual harassment and assault, alcohol, and drug abuse, and eating disorders.
· Must have experience with student conduct, advising, student leadership development and engagement, and Greek Life.
